Оn the ground of special agreement in the contract for including Bulgaria in the Tripartite pact (1-st of March 1941) Bulgarian army invade in Macedonia and White sea Tracia on the 20-th of April 1941.
In the period 1942 - 1944 three partisan brigades operate in Bulgarian occupation zone - VIII Serbian brigade, First Kosovo detachment and the famous Third Macedonian brigade.
In August 1944 in an action of diversion partisans from Third Macedonian brigade have stolen banknotes of 250 levas - 1943 emission. The stolen money was only of series Ч and Ш. The partisans put a special seal (DEMOKRATSKA FEDERATIVNA JUGOSLAVIA; POVERENSTVO ZA FINANCII NA MACEDONIA) on a small quantity of them and in this way they tried to legalize them like Serbian partisans, who "emit" their own money. Here you can have a look at stolen banknotes but if the intention of Macedonian partisans were fulfilled you can understand from the book
of Kostadin Hristov "History of Bulgarian paper money".
